Frequently Asked Questions
Why hire interior designers?
Hiring an interior designer partners you with someone who has the
experience and knowledge to assist you in all facets of
design. Interior designers save you time and money by helping you
set a budget and stay within that budget while guiding you to the
best styles, quality, and pricing needed to complete your project. They also have memberships to to-the-trade only stores such as the Dallas Market Center, where you can get up to 50% off retail prices on all items for the home ranging from furniture to decor.
Do you need a large budget to
afford an interior designer?
No. DLP Interiors can help with as little
or a much as you would like, thus controlling your cost. We believe
that great design can be achieved by decorating affordably and creatively.
Paint is always a fast, easy, and inexpensive way to change the
appearance of a room. Also, you can freshen up your existing furniture
and accessories with just a few new pieces or even by painting or
recovering an existing piece. We strongly believe that every budget
deserves good design.
How do interior designers begin a project?
At DLP Interiors, we start with a design
consultation at the client's home where we get to know the client
and understand their personal style.
If they are undecided on a style then we have them look through
our style files where
they make note of the rooms that they like. These exercises give
us insight into their personal design style and that gives us the
starting point to begin designing specifically for their needs and
wishes.
I am planning a remodel. When should I contact
the interior designer?
Hire interior designers early in the planning stages. From the beginning,
your interior designer, architect and contractor should work with
you as a team. The interior designer can help you determine if you
have enough space and if your furniture will fit in the rooms as
designed. They will also coordinate colors, surfaces, lighting design,
furniture design and any other decisions related to the remodel.
